VALDEBEBAS 127 RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX

Madrid, 2017-2018

Promoter: Valenor

Surface area: 6.432 m2

Team: Rubio Arquitectura

The residential complex is located adjacent to the future Valdebebas Central Park, with elevated terraces providing viewing platforms towards the park as well as outdoor spaces next to the indoor swimming pool, gym and community meeting room. The rest of the garden areas are located along a central axis on the ground floor and benefit from the conditions created by the surrounding buildings to create lusher gardens around the activity areas: swimming pools, paddle court, and playgrounds.

The shade projected by the buildings creates improved conditions for plantings, allowing a wider choice to reinforce the greenery. Of note the use of Linden trees along the main walkway and three species with magnificent flowerings: the Kousa Dogwood, the Star Magnolia and the Crape Myrtle, without forgetting the use of typically Mediterranean species such as the Hedge maple or Cypress trees. All planting is over podium, hence substrates and drainage have been an important consideration in the landscape design.
